Before opening AR view
- •Confirm the selected dish location and target.
- •Allow camera access and any platform-required orientation access. Location access is needed only when using Current Location; a committed manual observer can be used without it.
- •Move away from large metal objects, vehicles, loudspeakers, magnets, motors, and energized cabling.
- •Hold the device steadily and give the compass and AR tracking time to settle.
AR view controls
- •Use Current Location or Search to update the observer used by both map and AR.
- •Use the laser beam to draw or remove a line to the selected target.
- •Use split screen to compare the camera view with the map and to correct the heading when that control is shown.
- •Use Snapshot to save the visible AR screen to your photo library or gallery. Grant photo or storage access if prompted.
- •Use Recalibrate AR when the scene is offset, tracking has recovered from an interruption, or the status asks for a reset.
Automatic Map and AR switching
When enabled in Settings, raising the device toward the sky can open AR and lowering it can return to the map. A manual choice is respected until the device crosses the appropriate reset position.
Android
Android camera guide fallback
If the app shows Camera guide fallback, the target and laser beam are overlays on the camera image rather than a line fixed in the physical scene. Use them for rough direction only, check the map bearing, and finish with receiver or meter feedback.
